Lake Wales, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Authorities look for the hit-and-run driver in a fatal crash early Saturday.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said that Leonard Wimberly, Jr. of Haines City died when the three-wheeled bicycle was struck by a truck that left the scene after the crash, according to a PCSO news release.
Wimberly rode on Masterpiece Road just after midnight when the truck happened. He was pronounced dead at Lake Wales Regional Medical Center. Deputies found pieces of a side mirror at the scene, which indicates that the vehicle involved is a 1998-2009 Dodge 2500 or 3500 pickup truck.
Deputies ask anyone who saw the crash, or sees such a truck with a missing side mirror to call PCSO at 863-298-6200.
