Pinellas Daycare Owner Charged with Child Abuse

LARGO (970 WFLA) -- The owner of a daycare in Largo is facing child abuse charges.

Pinellas deputies arrested 59 year old Colleen Days. They say the mother of a two year old boy, found he had several bruises, after picking him up from Itsy Bitsy Kids World on Oak Street October 3rd. She was told the child "fell."

But detectives say Days hit the toddler several times, with the shoes he was refusing to put on. They also say Days had a history of hitting children with a hand, or with shoes, to punish them. The daycare is shut down pending an investigation.
