More Fuel for Florida in a Hurricane

TALLAHASSEE (970 WFLA) -- Getting more fuel into Florida during a hurricane or other emergency.

Governor Rick Scott is ordering the state Department fo Transportation to work with ports and retailers to find ways to increase Florida's fuel capacity during emergencies, and turn in recommendations in January.

This follows the Hurricane Irma evacuations, during which many Floridians had trouble finding enough fuel to make it out of the state, as well as for returning after the storm. It also follows US Senator Bill Nelson's call to create an emergency fuel reserve for Florida.
