ORLANDO (970 WFLA) -- Two lawmakers from the Orlando area hope to make sure that no child is ever again left to die in a locked daycare van.
Orlando senator Linda Stewart is sponsoring a bill in the Florida Legislature, to require daycare centers to install safety equipment by 2019. Orlando representative Bruce Antone is backing a companion bill in the House.
Bills filed in the Legislature often go down in flames, but Stewart calls this a "no-brainer" and says there's no good reason to oppose it.
Three year old Myles Hill died after being left in a van at Little Miracles Academy in Orlando last August.
