Hillsborough County, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A rollover crash killed one person and sent six children to the hospital early Sunday.
Hillsborough County firefighters got a 911 call at about 8 a.m. about the crash near Big Bend Road. They arrived to find a van in the bushes, and seven people on the ground that had been ejected from the van, according to a news release from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
The adult among the seven had died. Two of the children had to be flown to the trauma center at Tampa General Hospital, and rescuers closed both directions of I-75 so the medical helicopters could land.
Four other children when to TGH by ambulance. HCFR did not release any of the victims' names. It said that the Florida Highway Patrol would investigate the accident.
