Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Fifty Five year-old Johnny Dale Durden is homeless after police say he set his home on fire.
Investigators say Durden poured a gallon of gasoline over the porch area of his home on East Fairbanks Avenue and then ignited it with an open flame. The fire then fully engulfed the single story house. The fire was so large that it caused the rear exterior walls and the roof to collapse.
Police say a witness spotted Durden leaving the house with flames behind him. Durden was treated for his injuries and then was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. Durden is charged with first-degree arson.
