MIAMI (970 WFLA) -- A company that owns movie multiplex theaters in several Bay area locations is under new ownership.
CMX Cinemas, a subsidiary of Mexico's Cinemex chain, is buying Cobb Theatres for an undisclosed price.
CMX opened its first U.S. cinema just six months ago in Miami.
Cobb owns 25 cinemas with 287 screens. Four locations are in the greater Tampa Bay area: the Tyrone Luxury 10 in St. Petersburg, the Countryside 12 in Clearwater, the Grove 16 in Wesley Chapel, and the Lakeside 18 in Lakeland.
