Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-The Hillsborough County Health Department has issued a health advisory for Bahia, Ben T. Davis, Davis Islands, Picnic Island and Simmons Park beaches.
All five beaches tested positive for high levels of enterococci bacteria. Health department workers say the bacteria presents a potential health risk to anyone who goes into the water.
When re-sampling indicates that the water is within the satisfactory range, the advisory will be lifted. Water at all five beaches is scheduled to be tested again on Monday, October 16th.
