Tampa, Fla.-(10/8/2017)-It's time to forget about Nate, Irma and Harvey. It's Tampa Bay Lightning season. This year marks the 25th anniversary for the team.
Number One Daughter took me to the season opener. A lot of fun and the Bolts actually won the game. Hope it's a sign of many more wins to come.
The game was a sellout. Amalie Arena was packed to the rafters. The Lightning Girls provided the welcome for the fans waiting on the plaza to get inside. It was a party atmosphere.
All the fans at the game got a commemorative ticket marking this season's opener and the very first Lightning game. I was there, too.
I think my son was just four when I dragged him along to that first game at the Florida State Fairgrounds. I liked that place. You were really on top of the action inside that small venue.
Congrats Bolts! Celebrate 25 years by winning another Stanley Cup. Hear all of the games on Newsradio 970 WFLA.
