Seffner, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County deputies have arrested 27 year-old Veronica Yuliann Rivera-Cruz on four counts of aggravated child abuse and child neglect with great bodily harm.

Investigators say the woman brought a 19 month-old girl in her care to Brandon Regional Hospital for some swelling in the child's left leg. Hospital personnel checked and determined the injuries were from physical abuse.

The hospital's Child Protection Team says the abuse took place over a period of at least two months. They also determined that Rivera-Cruz did not provide the girl with any medical attention.

The little girl has since been transferred to All Children's Hospital in Saint Petersburg.
