Killer Lashes Out, Calls Execution a "Lynching"

STAKRE FL (970 WFLA) -- A man on death row, set to be executed Thursday night, lashes out at the system, after his latest appeal is rejected.

Michael Lambrix told reporters at Florida State Prison in Starke, that Republican Governor Rick Scott is engaging in "good old fashioned lynching" to improve his chances in next year's Senate election against incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson.

Lambrix was convicted of killing a couple in Glades County in 1983... he admits killing Clarence Moore, claiming self-defense, but insists Moore strangled the other victim, Aleisha Bryant.

State and federal courts have rejected Lambrix's claims. He's due to be put to death Thursday night at six p.m.
