Florida Offers More Help for Puerto Rico

ORLANDO (970 WFLA) -- Governor Rick Scott says Florida continues ramping up its assistance to Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Checking in at a Red Cross distribution warehouse in Orlando, Scott says that response includes a communications specialist and an airman from the Florida National Guard and Florida Air National Guard. They're assisting with stabilizing the response network and directing joint air coordination. The Florida National Guard is also providing a base to assist the North Carolina National Guard as it ships vehicles by sea out of Jacksonville.

Scott says the Florida Highway Patrol will have between 50-70 troopers available to respond immediately once needs are identified.
