GAINESVILLE, FL (970 WFLA) -- More than two thousand people have signed an online petition to put up a statue honoring legendary rocker Tom Petty, in his hometown of Gainesville, Florida.
Petty died Monday at age 66 after suffering cardiac arrest, following what turned out to be his final tour with the Heartbreakers.
The "Care2" website says organizers are aiming for three thousand signatures. It doesn't say who's behind the drive.
