Responding Locally to Las Vegas Shooting

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- How is local law enforcement reacting to the events in Las Vegas?

Tampa interim police chief Brian Dugan says he doesn't foresee any real changes in the local security protocol for large events.  But he says there's always room for improvement, especially after incidents like the Las Vegas massacre.

Dugan says local law enforcement receives the latest information on these incidents from their federal counterparts in order to review their own security policies.

Dugan says his officers are skilled at handling active shooter situations, but will review what happened to determine if any security changes should be made.

He believes his officers are skilled to respond to active shooter situations and doesn't forsee any major changes in security protocol for large events, like Gasparilla.
