Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County Public Schools will use early release days to make up for missed classes because of Hurricane Irma.
Hillsborough will convert four early release days into regular school days. Instead of releasing students an hour early, schools will have a full day on Monday, October 23 and 30 and November 6 and 13. The change will allow students to meet the state's requirement for time spent in class during the first semester.
Hillsborough schools consulted with teachers and surveyed other school workers to arrive at the early release day solution.
