Gas Prices Dropping

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Gasoline prices are going down again after hitting three-year highs thanks to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Prices started to rise when Harvey damaged refineries along the gulf coast.  Prices then stayed up across the southeast U.S. as Hurricane Irma ripped up the Florida peninsula. Tampa AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins says gas prices would be about 25 cents lower if Harvey and Irma would have stayed away.

The average gas price in Florida has dropped by about 5 cents a gallon in a week's time.  The most expensive gas in Florida is $2.76 in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area.  The least expensive gas in Florida is $2.60 in Pensacola.
