he neon orange sign along South Lois Avenue in Tampa reads "Donations for Puerto Rico".
Behind it, volunteers busily carry bottled water, diapers and bags of goods from car trunks to a parking lot with stacks of donated items.
Brenda Irizarry of the group Course of Action PR says so many supplies are needed, especially a cruise ship or large vessel to transport all these items to the island nation ripped apart by Hurricane Maria last week.
Power is completely out in Puerto Rico. Damage is vast catastrophic. Irizarry says Puerto Rican not only need bottled water, but baby supplies, canned food, toiletries, clothes, batteries and flashlights and even pet food.
Irizarry says the drop-off site will remain open every day for the foreseeable future, as well as a "Donations for Puerto Rico" GofundMe account.
