Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - People who need FEMA help have more flexibility on when they can visit one of the agency's Disaster Recovery Centers in the state.
FEMA says in a news release:
FEMA has expanded the hours of operations for its Disaster Recovery Centers in Florida to better accommodate Hurricane Irma survivors.
The operating hours of the five centers open in the state so far, including one in Tampa Bay, are from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week, until further notice.
FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Hillsborough County to help Irma survivors register for federal disaster assistance and have the opportunity to meet with representatives from state and local agencies that are also offering aid. The center is at Hillsborough Community College – The Regent at 6437 Watson Road in Riverview.
Attached you’ll find a Disaster Recovery Centers Fact Sheet.
FEMA also continues to have Disaster Survivors Assistance teams going door-to-door in neighborhoods in Hillsborough and Pinellas County today, encouraging residents to register for federal assistance.
The quickest way to register, though, remains by going online to DisasterAssistance.gov. Residents can also register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
