VA Health Services Resuming After Irma

ST. PETERSBURG FL (970 WFLA) -- It's not 100 percent, but services are beginning to return to normal in the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System following Irma.

Bay Pines associate director Kris Brown says the Emergency Department at the C.W. "Bill" Young VA Medical Center is open again, and Primary Care and Mental Health walk-in appointments are now available. Patient visitation hours and procedures have returned to normal, and the Veterans Canteen Service Cafeteria and Patriot Store have reopened.

Brown also says primary care appointments are available in Bradenton, Port Charlotte, and downtown St. Petersburg.

Clinics in Palm Harbor, Sarasota, Sebring and Naples will remain closed until further notice.
