BROOKSVILLE (970 WFLA) -- Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis is making a last-minute appeal for residents near shelters to drop off personal hygiene items.
Nienhuis says the shelters are running short of items such as towels, soap and personal items.
He says you could make donations before high winds arrive around 3 p.m.

West Hernando Middle School on Ken Austin Parkway in Brooksville.
Explorer School on Northcliff Boulevard in Spring Hill.
Challenger School on Elgin Boulevard in Spring Hill.
Nature Coast Technical High School in Spring Hill.
