Brandon, Fla. (970 WFLA) - An early morning arrest nabbed an armed robber who stole an elderly woman's purse at gunpoint Monday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office said.
Marcus Wayne Hunt, 28, ripped the purse from the 86-year-old woman's hands in her driveway as she unloaded groceries from her car Monday afternoon, deputies say, according to an HCSO news release.
Hunt and at least one other man had spied the woman putting the groceries into her car at the WalMart on Causeway Blvd. in Brandon at about 12:25 p.m. Monday and followed her to her home nearby.
Deputies arrested Hunt shortly after midnight Tuesday. He faces charges of robbery and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the release said.
