Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A Tampa Police officer shot a man who attacked him early Sunday, TPD says.
At 5:18 a.m., two officers responded to a complaint from a neighbor about two men trespassing at a vacant house at 3416 East 9th Avenue. The officers met the men near the back of the house, which was completely dark, according to a TPD news release, where they say that Daniel Olinger, 68, starting fighting with one of them.
The officer shot Olinger, who went to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The officer was not hurt. "He has been placed on administrative leave, as is standard," according to the release. The other officer did not fire his weapon. The other man who was at the house was not injured.
