Upset Man Torches Scooter

Scooter set on fire by owner in St. Pete Beach, Fla.

St. Pete Beach, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Pinellas County deputies have arrested a man for setting his motor scooter on fire in the 86 hundred block of Blind Pass Road.

Investigators say 34 year-old Chance Richie crashed his scooter, got mad and then set it on fire.  The fire damaged two other vehicles that were parked nearby.

Deputies say they were approached by Richie as the fire burned. They say he appeared intoxicated. Deputies later found Richie in possession of cocaine.

Richie is charged with two counts of arson, cocaine possession and violation of probation.
