Teenagers from Tampa, out looking to break in to cars, caught thanks to someone paying attention in Winter Haven.
Police there say a man spotted the teens in a pickup truck in the Normandy Heights neighborhood. Police arrived and they scattered. The Polk County Sheriff's Office sent up its helicopter to help in the search.
Two were found at a mobile home, the third found hiding in a trash can.
18 year old Martel Nealry and 17 year old Key'vis Atkins of Riverview, and 17 year old Marquel Anetus of Tampa, are facing several charges, including burglary, gun and drug possession.
Police say one of the guns found in a search was in the yard of a home with a pool. "A child could have easily found this gun," said Winter Haven police chief Charlie Bird, "and I shudder to think what the result could have been."
