Two Fishermen Rescued Off Dunedin Coast

Dunedin, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Marine Unit Deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office have two Palm Harbor men safely back on land after their rental boat started taking on water. 

 26 year old Mohamed Sameni and 25 year old Nicholas Dudas-Szabo were in a 18 foot rental boat from the Pirates Cove Marina.  The two  started fishing an area known as the Dunedin Reef, about six miles west of Dunedin when they started having problems. 

Rescue boats from Palm Harbor Fire and Rescue the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission  arrived to assist in the rescue.   Neither men were injured. 

 Deputies  are trying to determine why the boat sank, which is still partially submerged in the area.  The U.S. Coast Guard is warning boaters to be on the look out for the hazard.
