LUTZ, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Animal Control officials responded to a home in Lutz and found dozens of dead cats, and discovered dozens more living in terrible conditions.
The home was located on Lakeside Drive. 27 cats were found dead; 50 others were recovered and were taken to the Pet Resource Center.
Several of the cats that were found alive will likely be euthanized because of severe health problems.
The case remains under investigation. Results of the probe will be handed over to the Hillsborough State Attorney's Office for review.
