Gulfport, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police officers responded to Gulfport Beach, in the 55 hundred block of Shore Boulevard, South, on a report of a body in the water. Paramedics tried to revive the unresponsive woman, but pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police say the deceased is an 88 year-old Gulfport resident. Police say they'll released her identity after they're able to notify her family.
Foul play is not suspected and the preliminary investigation shows a likely drowning.
