Free Sandbags Offered By Bay Area Communities

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Tropical Storm Emily brings the threat of possible flooding to the Bay area. 

Several communities are offering free sand bags.  You must bring proof that you live in the city, or county and there is a ten bag limit per household.

In the city of Tampa, Bobby Hicks Pool, 4201 W. Mango Ave., Barksdale Active Adult Center at Macfarlane Park, 1801 N. Lincoln Ave., and Jackson Heights Community Center playground, 3310 E. Lake Avenue.

In Pinellas Park, sand bags are available at the  Public Works Facilities Building, 6151 78th Ave North.

In Pinellas County,  Emergency Management  has made sandbags available for citizens in unincorporated Pinellas County at the following locations: John Chesnut Park, 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor...John S. Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. SW, Largo .....Lealman Community Park, 3800 55th Ave. N., St. Petersburg.

 Sandbags are available in  Pasco County in Tarpon Springs, at Splash Park (Live Oak Street between Alt 19 and US 19), Sponge Docks (West End at Roosevelt Blvd),and at  Dorsett Park (E. Harrison Street).
