Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-President Trump's decision to keep transgender people out of the U.S. military is getting a bad reaction from at least one Florida LGBT rights group.
Equality Florida's Nadine Smith says service members deserve better than a tweet to inform them of Trump's decision. Smith says the move sends the message that Trump does not have the backs of the many transgenders now serving in the military.
Smith says plenty of transgenders have been serving in the military honorably for years and that the Trump administration is now moving in reverse. Smith says the decision shows that prejudice is more powerful than the experience of the LGBT people who have been serving.
