Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Gasoline prices continue to be some of the best bargains here in Florida. AAA says the statewide average is $2.13 a gallon. The national average is $2.25.
Tampa AAA's Mark Jenkins says gas prices have been relatively steady in the past several weeks, but that could all change. Jenkins says refineries have been running at full capacity, cutting into excess crude oil stockpiles. Jenkins says that issue should help to push prices up by as much as 5 cents by week's end.
The most expensive gasoline prices ($2.24) continue to be found in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area. The least expensive gasoline ($2.01) can be found in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area. Some bay area drivers report buying gas for under $2 a gallon.
