TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Tampa city council got an update on the regulation of medical pot dispensaries in the city. Regulations call for dispensaries to fall under the same guidelines as pharmacies, with medical pot processing facilities zoned for the same areas as heavy manufacturing plants. Councilman Harry Cohen wonders why both processing centers and dispensaries couldn't be located in the same industrial areas of the city.
“There are opportunities for co-location between the processing facility and the dispensary and that seems reasonable to me”, Cohen said.
Right now, medical pot regulations in Tampa call for dispensaries to be at least 500 feet from schools.
Meantime, council approved a 120-day moratorium on 5-G wireless antennae permits for city rights of way. That's been reduced from a 180-day ban on those permits.
