Pinellas Park, Fla. (970 WFLA) The father of a one month old baby is in jail charged with aggravated child abuse. Pinellas Deputies say 26 year old Daniel Nixon squeezed his child so hard he fractured several of the infants ribs.
The baby was admitted to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, after her parents told doctors the baby was suffering from digestive problems and a bruise on one of her legs. Doctors told detectives, the child suffered from over 20 rib fractures.
During questioning, Nixon admitted he had intentionally and with force, squeezed the infant on at least two occasions, because she was crying and he was frustrated.
The child has been released from the hospital and is being cared for by a member of the family.
