Tropical Depression Four Picks Up Speed

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-At 5:00 AM the center of Tropical Depression Four was located near latitude 13.2 North, longitude 40.0 West, about 1435 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.

The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph.  A continued west-northwestward motion with an additional increase in forward speed is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph with higher gusts.  Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is not currently expected to become a tropical storm.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 M B,  (29.77 inches).
