10+ apartments destroyed in fire, no injuries

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Several apartments got wiped out by a two alarm fire in north Tampa.

But Jason Penny with Tampa Fire Rescue says nobody got hurt, when flames shot through the roof of a 12-unit apartment building, at Knollwood Manor on 30th Street and Sligh Avenue.

"Even though, it looks like this building is fully destroyed, the good news is that everyone got out safely with their lives", Jason told Newsradio 970 WFLA. At least 10 out of the 12 units are unlivable.

It took two hours to put out the fire, which broke out around 5 in the morning. Displaced families are getting help from the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
