36 Dogs Rescued From Inverness Garage

Dogs Found In Inverness Garage

INVERNESS, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Citrus County Sheriff's deputies found 36 dogs living in filth inside a garage in Inverness, and the two owners have been arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Investigators responded to an anonymous tip about the unassuming garage on Alpine Avenue.  From the outside, it seemed like a quiet property with no obvious sign of trouble.

But investigators said the dogs inside the garage were covered in mange, fleas, and feces.  One dog has so many sores it can no longer walk.

Animal control officers said it was one of the most "horrific cases" they've ever worked.

Most of the dogs were Pomeranians and Shih Tzu mixes.

Ryan McLean and Deana Feldman were charged with one county of felony animal cruelty and 27 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty and were held in jail on $32,000 bond.
