Anniversary Of Gator Attack At Disney

Lane Graves

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - It was a year ago outside the Grand Floridian Hotel at Walt Disney World that a two year old boy was dragged into a lagoon by an alligator and drowned.

Today a memorial is being held to remember Lane Graves at the theme park.  Disney is expected to erect a lighthouse sculpture in honor of the toddler.

Graves was attacked by the gator while he was playing near the water at an artificial beach on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Disney has since added signs, fencing, and a wall along the lagoon to prevent another incident.

The Graves family said it declined to sue Disney World over the incident.
