HUDSON, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A motorcycle rider was killed after an 87-year old woman failed to stop at an intersection in Hudson, leading to a collision, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Gladys Bethel was driving westbound on Little Road when she entered the intersection of U.S. 19 and collided with a 2010 Toyota.
That collision forced her vehicle into the path of the biker who struck her car.
The biker, Steven Willard, 53, died at the scene.
Both Bethel and the Toyota driver were taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries.
U.S. 19 was closed for several hours during the investigation but reopened Sunday at 5 p.m.
