Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County Commissioners have voted to limit the number of medical marijuana dispensaries at 19. The previous proposal would have held the number at 13.
The number of dispensaries is tied to Hillsborough's population. The math works out to 1.5 dispensaries for every 67,222 citizens. The number of dispensaries could increase as more people locate to the county.
Commissioner Pat Kemp was the lone no vote. Kemp had wanted licenses awarded to any state-approved grower that wanted a dispensary.
