St. Petersburg, FL (970 WFLA) -- The suspect who allegedly stabbed a cab driver to death has been arrested.
The Pinellas Sheriff's Office says they identified 27 year old Juan Juares of Pinellas Park as a suspect based on witness interview's and evidence. Juares was arrested just after 9 Thursday evening at a residence not far from where investigators say he abandoned John Hutchens stolen taxi cab near 47th Ave. North and 71st Way..
Detectives say Juares stabbed the 59 year old Pinellas Park man and left him to die in the parking lot of a closed Citgo gas station around 1 Thursday morning
According to St Petersburg Police, Hutchens was a Cabdriver for United Taxi of Clearwater.
Juares is charged with first degree murder.
