Two Arrested For Lakeland Murder

Lakeland, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)- Polk County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested two men for the murder of 29 year-old Preston Burnett. Burnett's body was found on the shuttered Skyview Golf Course.

PCSO Homicide detectives arrested:

  • 39-year-old Christopher Clardy, 2401 Teri Street, Auburndale
    • o First Degree Murder (F-C)
    • o Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder (F-1)
    • o Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F-2)

  • 30-year-old Jamie "Jamo" Garst, 447 Skyline Drive West, Lakeland
    • o First Degree Murder (F-C)
    • o Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder (F-1)
    • o Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F-2)

Jamie Garst, arrested for murder in Lakeland, Fla.

Deputies say Burnett was shot because he showed up at a drug hangout after he'd been told to stay away. Burnett's body was found May 10th.
