Tarpon Springs, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A Tarpon Springs woman who claims she has psychic abilities, is facing charges after allegedly scamming a military veteran out of thousands of dollars.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 31 year old Gina Wilson told the 33 year old victim, to stop taking his medications, stop seeing his doctor and his therapist, and alter his bank information.
It wasn't until the victim payed Wilson, approximately $92,000 before realizing he was being scammed and called the Economic Crimes Unit at the sheriff's office.
During the investigation, detectives learned of another victim, a woman who had paid Wilson over $60,000 to help her cope with her continued grieving over her late husband.
Wilson is charged with Scheme to defraud. Detectives are asking for any other potential victims to please come forward and contact the Pinellas Sheriff's Office.
