Plant City, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Multiple agencies cooperated to rescue a 25-year-old horse stuck deep in the mud Monday night. Firefighters from Hillsborough County Station 25 arrived to the home on Retreat Lane in Plant City and could not free the horse whose legs were completely submerged.
They called a vet and heavy equipment to the scene, and got help from the Polk County Sheriff's Office State Agriculture Response team, as well as a veterinarian who sedated the horse, named Kiersa, as rescuers strapped it to machine to lift it out of the mud.
Kiersa awoke about 30 minutes later with no apparent injuries. Hillsborough Fire Rescue posted video of the rescue to its Facebook page.
