St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A St. Pete man might want to find a better getaway vehicle if he ever tries to rob a bank again.
St. Petersburg Police say a silent holdup alarm alerted them to a robbery in progress at the Suntrust Bank at 3100 Central Ave., where a man had passed a note to a teller demanding cash. The teller handed him the money and he took off.
Police arrived, and were given a description of the robber. One officer went to the PSTA Bus terminal around the block, at 3180 Central Ave., and found the suspect seating in the back of a bus, that was just about to leave the terminal. Cops found the banks money, stuffed inside the suspects underwear.
He's identified as 42 Robert Johnson. Johnson's been in trouble before and is known to use several aliases, including the name John Williams.
