Detention Deputy Charged With DUI

Hudson, Fla.(970 WFLA)- A Pasco County Detention Deputy  is out of a job after her  arrest for drunk driving.

Pasco Deputies and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers were conducting a traffic fatality investigation in Hudson.

The northbound lanes of Highway 19, just south of Hudson Avenue were blocked.

Traffic was being funneled through the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie.  In the roadway, officers had placed several flashing flares, and reflective cones, along with four marked patrol cars and three state trooper vehicles,  all with lights flashing to alert approaching drivers.

But, according to the highway patrol, 26 year old Katrina Pereira didn't see the officers or the flashing lights. Her car came to a stop in the middle of the investigation  area,  almost hitting a state trooper.   After attempting the field sobriety exercises, she was arrested and charged with DUI.
