Lakeland, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police say they've arrested a Lake Wales man after he was caught stealing another man's tools from a truck in the parking garage of the Imperial Swan Hotel. Police say that 66 year-old Bert Lietzow has just attended a pre-trial intervention class there.
Officers say Reinaldo Diaz, Jr., was returning to his work truck at the hotel when he spotted Lietzow going through the tool box on the truck that belongs to Precision Fire Systems. Police say Lietzow had already removed two drills, a battery charger and a drill bit set by the time Diaz showed up.
Police say Diaz told them that Lietzow offered him $100.00 not to report the incident to police. Diaz refused the cash and called officers.
Police managed to track down Lietzow and arrest him for the theft. Investigators say Lietzow was at the intervention class due to a previous theft charge.
