Homeless Man Dies After Being Hit By A Train

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A homeless man was hit and killed by an Amtrak train as he was walking along the railroad tracks in Tampa. 

The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office says, just before 6 Sunday evening, an Amtrak train with 120 passengers on board had left the downtown station and was heading east. The unidentified victim was walking east on the train tracks near Highview Road.  The conductor blew the horn, but was unable to stop the train in time and hit the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
