Gas Prices Take A Dive

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Gasoline prices in the Tampa Bay area continue to go down. The area average dropped from $2.40 a gallon a week ago to $2.33 this week.

The Florida average is $2.36 for a gallon of regular.  A gallon was selling at $2.41 just a week ago. The national average is $2.35.

The most expensive gas in Florida is in the West Palm Beach area ($2.41). The least expensive gas can be found in the Orlando area ($2.33)

Tampa's AAA attributes the falling gas prices to a high production rate at U.S. refineries, a recent drop in crude oil prices and moderate demand for fuel.
