CLEARWATER, Fla. (970 WFLA) - The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for an elderly boater from Clearwater who disappeared while attempting to sail from the Bay area all the way up the eastern seaboard to Maine.
Richard Tomlinson, 82, was reported missing after his damaged sailboat washed ashore in the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Monday.
The Coast Guard dispatched a Jayhawk helicopter and cutter in hopes of finding him alive.
