Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Florida gas prices are at their highest in 20 months.  AAA says the state average hit $2.47 last week. It's the highest price we've paid here since August of 2015.

The Florida average for a gallon of regular has hit $2.45 since that peak, but is still up from last week's average of $2.42.  Analysts say the most expensive gas in the state is $2.54 per gallon in the West Palm Beach/Boca Raton area.

Tampa AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins says the future outlook is good.  Jenkins expects falling oil and wholesale gas prices to push pump prices lower later in the week. Jenkins also does not expect prices to hit the $3.00 mark over the summer months.
