Palm Harbor, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Pinellas County deputies have arrested a man for the attempted murder of an elderly woman.
Deputies, responding to a call of an assault in progress at 754 1st Court, say they found the 75 year-old being attacked by 20 year-old Emanuel Qosaj. They say the man was on top of the woman beating and choking her with a dog leash. Deputies had to use a taser to get Qosaj to stop.
Deputies say Qosaj's two brothers, 41 year-old Alfred and 36 year-old Genc, tried to interfere. A deputy was injured struggling with the brothers. Alfred and Jenc were also arrested.
Deputies say the trouble started as both Qosaj and the woman were walking their dogs, but no specifics have been released yet.
Qosaj is charged with attempted felony murder, battery and more.
The 75 year-old victim is at Mease Countryside Hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to recover.
